Quarterly 1 - Equality - Proposed Concept

SHOWGIRLS 111.jpg

Equality calls for Invariable Acknowledgement and respect of all bodies, whether size, shape, color, or any other difference that makes a person unique. Every body is beautiful, sexy, and deserving of Evocative display. The concept here is to show A full range of body types with a sleek and seductive visual design. Taking inspiration from the iconic Show Girls movie cover, The aim Is to diversify iconic imagery by including all body types. The original concept will be expanded into various group formats- Mockups seen below- which depict a range of eye catching patterns.

Every concept, despite some of the source images in the mockups Below, will include a diverse range of skin tone and body size. Faces could be included or obscured. Further Conversation between Playboy and Rob will determine the exact Details, dimensions and number of images created.

Mockups:

***For the image with a cross hatched pattern formed out of bodies and the circle made of faces, there would be a range of skin tones

***For the image of the playboy logo, bodies would actually be curled and combined strategically to form the shape, this is simply a visual to give the basic idea

***These images and additional patterns could be used as various editions of a cover, in a full editorial spread, or combination of both

Quarterly 2 - Speech - Proposed Concept

Visual Inspiration

The concept here is to show how society boxes people in and systematically works to limit their ability to express free speech. The visual representation will be a 3 part evolution:

1. A glass box is in the center of a white or black room, it is filled with curled up Nude people stacked and wrapped around each other

2. One side of the box is opened, and the people start to spill out of the box, but the box still looks full, as if its magically contained more people than its outward appearance (Like the Neverending Mary Poppins Bag)

cube 2.jpg

3. The people spread out in the space of the empty room and start to stand and rise up, free to express themselves- embracing each other in various ways in some parts of the scene

In the above Visual Inspiration, images of a warehouse space with a glass box in the middle semi-depicts the scene imagined, however the scene produced for playboy would have a box about the size of 3-4 people wide when in a curled up position, more in a relative scale to the images of the boy in the fish tanks at the end of the gallery.

A variety of images using shadows could accompany the more 3D imagery described previously to create a diverse range of images and fuller story for publication in playboy.
