Concept 1 - Night Shades

The first concept is to create a bold, neon fantasy using body paint and/or projection. The concept plays off the colorful, lively streets of Mexico City and combines with the sensuality that is Playboy. This could be done in a studio or mansion space where models can interact with furniture/bathtub/etc. The possibilities are endless. A gif is included Above from a Gotye music video of a full face painting to show the potential for timelapse video behind the scenes that could be shared on social media in a dramatic way (but imagine much more sensual).

Concept 2 - Fluid Floral Fantasy

For this concept i envision feminine energy, models dressed in actual flowers, perhaps head to toe, and bathing in natural water environments and landscapes. The idea would be to show the natural beauty of mexico and combine that with a return to nude in nature. This could be a one time production to one location, or a series of editorials shot in a variety of the locations below.

Imagine a whole campaign all over mexico that features the diversity of your landscape while celebrating gorgeous mexican models and personalities.

Multiple location suggestions around mexico include: Tulum, Hierva El Agua, Jardín Escultórico Edward James and the local waterfalls of that region, Oaxaca Beaches, The Pink Lake in the Yucatan and more.

Concept 3 - Reflection/Duplicity

Every day begins with a glance at the mirror. The concept here is to create a surreal reflective set, highly inspired by the “Mirrors” music video by Justin Timberlake and the “Cosmic Love” video by Florence + The Machine, yet more high fashion, sleek, sexy and luxurious, and set in a monochromatic color range. The set could be large or small, the important part would be creating interesting duplications of the model and the wardrobe using mirrors. Some images could feature a model standing in the scene while another model is reflected in a standing mirror, while other shots could reflect just body parts framed in reflections. The experimental possibilities would be endless in such a set.

The location for this piece would be a studio set, and could take place in any city.

Concept 4 - Hands On Me

Human connection is one of the key sources of creation- leading to this simple yet beautiful concept of using simple human elements to elevate and draw attention to fashion or a featured model. The play of human limbs or shadows would be a gorgeous pairing with the Playboy brand. Pulling from the visual mood of the music video “I Love You” by Woodkid (seen in stills of the second row of images above), this concept pairs natural textures and essences with the simplicity of human form. I envision a pairing of images of natural, monochromatic scenes published next to images of human forms and shadows interacting, drawing attention to the luxurious designs featured. Perhaps the items could be on a model in one image with a simple/plain backdrop, and placed against a natural texture such as the ice or rock surfaces seen above in a diptych layout. This concept would be shot on location and in studio to achieve those paired looks.

Concept 5 - Sensual Dance Formations

Having worked with large teams of dancers in LA, NY, Portland and Mexico City, I’d like to envision a fashion series developed on dancers who can quite literally elevate the products using gravity defying poses and movements. My work plays off of geometry and the rhythm, something that often works its way into fashion. Imagine these types of compositions but dripping in Gucci. I could easily envision group formations paired with highly stylized individual shots similar to the ones above.

An additional direction that could be taken would be pairing an eco-conscience brand (if that opportunity arises) with scenes that depict dancers rising out of natural scenes, lifting up models that are wearing the eco-clothing or products. The series could draw attention to environmental problems while also featuring luxury products that are doing their part to reduce our global footprint. This could involve a certain level of nudity as well.

A specific example would be photographing a group of dancers painted blue, rising out of a pink lake (various lakes exist in Spain, Mexico, Peru and other countries)- this would represent oil spills, while artistically pairing the compliments of pink and blue for aesthetic purposes. The dancers could be lifting a model up that is sporting eco-conscience clothing. An inverse image could be created in tropical blue waters, where the dancers are painted pink. Vague inspiration could be drawn from the Moschino Aliens.
